Never Reject God

In Prov. 22:6, Bible says, "Train your child he way he will grow; when he grows up, he will not depart from it".
What "way"? The way can be divided into two: the good and the bad way. The good way comprises of knowing God, pursuing knowledge and good moral background. Every parent is commanded to give their children these three legacies. But not all parents bestow these precious. legacies. to their children. On the other hand not all children who got these legacies remain in the path.

Many parents give their children everything but God. This is a fundamental parenting error. But such children can surrender themselves to God when they become independent of their parents and even go as far as winning their parents for Christ.
What matters the most therefore is that God should never be absent in a child's life. Therefore whether your parents introduce you to God or you do so by yourself, STAY glued to Him for the rest of your life.
Why? Without Him in your life, your life will be meaningless and purposeless. No matter how clever you may be, you will eventually make mistakes that will lead you to frustrations like Solomon experienced and expressed in the whole book of Ecclesiastes.
Solomon retraced his steps back to God and his life was restored. It was this restoration that brought meaning and purposefulness back to his life. You may not be as lucky. (to be contd.)

After the Chain is Broken

On attaining the age of maturity, a child is expected to become independent. At this stage that child can decide for himself whether to continue to to toe the paths, e.g religious, academic and moral that the parents have trained them to follow. The child may as well decide to chat an entirely new path for himself.
parents or chart a new course for himself.

The choice is his. Some children have decided to toe opposite paths thereby frustrating all the expectations of his parents, by abandoning their religious, academics and moral upbringing. In so doing they brought shame instead of fame to their families.
I urge you, if you must change anything at all, from the parental legacies inherited by you, never abandon God. Never abandon the pursuit of knowledge and rather than abandon the good moral background handed over to you by your parents BUILD upon instead. The negative consequences of not heeding this advice are many. are going to examine these in more details in subsequent chapters.

Always remember, you have Only One Life to live. Don't toy with it!
